Common Outlook Express Errors
If you're setting up Outlook Express with your Google Apps mail for the first time, please ensure that you have enabled POP in your Google Apps mail and configured your mail client correctly. For further instructions, please visit the Gmail Help Center.
- Error: "Your account is not enabled for POP access. Please visit your Gmail settings page and enable your account for POP access."
To resolve this issue, enable POP in your email account settings.
- Error: "The connection to the server has failed. Server: 'pop.gmail.com'. Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number 0x800CCC0E"
To resolve this issue, check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) for the POP server.
- Error: "530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. Port 465, Secure SSL: No, Server Error: 530, Error number 0x800CCC78"
To resolve this issue, check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) for the SMTP server.
- Error: "The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. Protocol SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.5.1 Authentication Required.' Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 530, Error number 0x800CCC78"
To resolve this issue, check the box next to My server requires authentication.
- Error: "Your password was rejected. ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted."
To resolve this issue, verify your password and then clear the captcha.
